【摘要】:SincethequalityofprehospitalBLS/EMTtrainingdepends,inlargemeasure,ontheinstructionalabilitiesandcompetenciesoftheBLS/EMTinstructor,itisimperativethattheindividualselectedandusedinthiscapacitypossessthequalificationsandcapabilitiesnecessarytoprovideeffectiveinstruction.ABLS/EMTinstructormustpossessclearlydefinedknowledgeandskillscompetencies,haveclearlydefinedresponsibilitiesandscopeofauthorityrelatedtoinstructionalprograms,andmeetotherspecificrequirementspertinenttothelevelofinstruction.Usingthisguide,EMSinstitutionsandorganizationsshouldbeabletodeveloprequirementsforselectionandutilizationofBLS/EMTinstructorsforBLS/EMTtrainingandeducationprograms.BASICLIFESUPPORTINSTRUCTORGUIDELINESTop1.1Thisguideisintendedtoassistemergencymedicalservices(EMS)agenciesandinstitutionsinselectingandutilizingindividualswhoteachinEMT(emergencymedicaltechnician)trainingprogramswhichincludeinstructioninbasiclifesupportknowledgeandskills.1.2ThisguideidentifiessixcategoriesofinstructorinaBLS/EMT(basiclifesupport/emergencymedicaltechnician)trainingprogram:adjunctinstructor,clinical/fieldpreceptor,practicalskillsinstructor,associateinstructor,courseinstructor/coordinator(I/C),andcourseadministrator.Theguiderecognizesthatanindividualmay,dependingonhis/herlevelofpracticeandthetrainingprograminvolved,functioninanyorallofthesecategories.1.3Thisguideincludesspecificguidelinesforqualifications,training,education,experience,scopeofauthority,responsibilities,continuingeducation,evaluation,andmaintenanceofcompetencywhenapplicable.1.4Thisguidedoesnotincludespecificguidelinesforthecourseadministratorortheadjunctinstructor.Whiletheguiderecognizes,byofferingadefinitionofeachcategory,thatthesetypesofindividualsfunctioninmanyBLS/EMTtrainingprograms,thelimitedinstructionalrolesplayedbytheseindividualsprecludestheneedforspecificselectionandutilizationguidelines.1.5ThisguideisintendedtoapplytoanyindividualwhoteachesinBLS/EMTtrainingprogramsregardlessoftheindividual''spresentlevelofclinicalpractice.1.6Thisguideintentionallyomitsreferencestolengthofprehospitalcareexperience,teachingexperience,andcontinuingeducationrequirements.Thisguidealsoomitsreferencetowaiverorequivalency.Theseissuesshouldbeaddressedbytheappropriateagency.1.7ThisguideappliesonlytoinstructorswhoteachinbasiclifesupporttrainingcoursesdesignedtoprepareanindividualforcertificationtopracticeasanEMT(basic)orfirstresponder.ItdoesnotapplytoinstructorswhoteachinspecializedcoursesthatdonotinthemselvesqualifytheindividualforalevelofEMTcertification.1.8Thisguidedoesnotestablishcertificationrequirements.SuchrequirementsshouldbeestablishedbythecertifyingagencyinthejurisdictioninwhichtheBLS/EMTinstructorwillfunction.Thisguidemaybeusedtoprovideconsiderableguidancetothejurisdictionresponsibleforestablishingcertificationstandards.1.9Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Note18212;AlsoseePracticeF1031.
