【摘要】:Theintentofthistestmethodistoaidthecandlemanufacturertooptimizecandleformulationsinthereductionofvisiblesmokeemissions.Thistestmethodisintendedtoprovidecandlemanufacturersastandardproceduretouseduringdevelopmentofcandledesignsandformulationstocomparerelativesmoke/burnbehavior.Forthedevelopmentofthismethod,aprotocolwasestablishedfortrimmingthewickonspeciallypreparedtestcandlesto6to7mm(x00BC;in.)priortoeachburncycle.Itisrecommendedthatthemanufacturerdetermineastandardizedprotocol,thatis,eithernottrimmingthewickortrimmingthewicktoanappropriatelengthinorderfordirectcomparisonofresults.Arelativerankingofcandleformulationscanbeestablishedwiththeuseofahistogramofthedataandcontrolcharts.Thistestmethodisnotintendedtosetforthpass/failcriteriaforvisiblesmokeemissionsfromcandles,assuch,thismethodsetsnostandardlevelforvisiblesmokeemissions.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthecollectionandanalysisofvisibleemissionsfromindoorusecandlesastheyburn.1.2Thetestistobeusedtocomparerelativesmoke/burnbehaviorduringdevelopmentofcandledesignsandformulations.1.3Thistestmethodmaynotbesuitableformultiplewickcandles;tapersandcandlesintendedtobeburnedwhilefloatingonwatercommonlyknownasx201C;floaters.x201D;1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.

【摘要】:ThisInternationalStandardspecifiesmethodsforthemeasurementandevaluationofgaseousandparticulateexhaustemissionsfromheavy-dutyenginesundertransientconditionsonatestbed.Theproceduresitdefinescanbeappliedtoanytransienttestcyclethatdoesnotrequireextremesystemresponsetimes;itcanthereforebeusedasanoptiontotheregulatedmeasurementequipmentofcertificationtestcycles—usuallyCVS-typesystems—withtheapprovalofthecertificationagency[amongcertificationtestcyclesinplacearetheEuropeantransientcycle(ETC)andtheUSheavy-dutytransientcycle(FTP)].ThisInternationalStandardisapplicabletoheavy-dutyenginesforcommercialvehiclesprimarilydesignedforroaduse,butcanalsobeappliedtopassengercarenginesandtoenginesusedfornon-roadapplications.ThetestequipmentspecifiedinthisInternationalStandardcanalsobeusedinsteady-statetestcycles,however,ifso,thecalculationprocedureswillneedtobereplacedbythoseapplicabletotheparticulartestcycle.
