【摘要】:ThisInternationalStandardspecifiesthedimensionsandmechanicalpropertiesofmalleablewiresforuseassuturesandotherformsoftissueandimplantfix-ationinsurgery,andgivestestmethods.Themech-anicalpropertiesspecifiedaretensilestrength,elongation,andresistancetodamageinbendingandintorsion.SurfacefinishisnotcoveredbythisInternationalStandard.NOTES1Forsuchsurgicalapplications,itisessentialthatthewirecanbetwistedorknottedwithoutfracturingordevelopingcracksorcrevicesinitssurface.2Malleablewiresmaybeusedincloserelationshiptootherimplants.Inthesecircumstances,itisimportantthatstainlesssteelwireofcompositionsDandE(seeISO5832-1)shouldonlybeusedinrelationtoimplantsmadeofcorrespondingstainlesssteel,andwiresmadeofhigh-nitrogenstainlesssteelshouldonlybeusedinrelationtoimplantsofhigh-nitrogenstainlesssteel.Thiswillreducethepossibilityofgalvaniccorrosionoccurringbetweenthewiresandimplant.
